What color derby hat would go well with a simple dark purple dress and gold shoes?

I'm customary to a derby tea party and have a pretty simple dark purple dress, but for the life story of me I can't seem to find out what color hat i should wear. I have pretty gold shoes, but what color hat...eschew...please!!!!!

purple and gold will be appealing, but only if you add a neutral. if you did something bright or bold, it'll look more trendy and less classy, ya separate?
